“not knowing what you are going to get impresses me strongly”- shinichi maruyama

My collection is about finding the right balance between the edgy and the elegant: the raw and the beautiful. I am inspired by Japanese photographer Shinichi Maruyama's Kusho series, which consists of 23 photographs that represent the interplay of black ink and water. To achieve this, I've combine the use of indian ink, dye, and digital manipulation to create a series of large- scale digital prints.
