For her final year of the Bachelor of Design (Fashion), Lisa’s decision to enter the costume specialisation was influenced by her long-held love of film and television.
For her first brief titled “What would I wear to the Revolution?” she was inspired by the feminist movement in 17th-century France. The costume for her character Adelaide Marie Panckoucke, a travelling outfit emulating the military styles of the time, is influenced by Lisa’s passion for literature and travel. Adelaide is a Colporteur, an illegal bookseller, who distributes written material banned by the French monarchy.
For her creative contemporary assignment, Lisa has based her piece around the theme “At the Stroke of Midnight”, drawing inspiration from Steampunk culture and the idea of what happens when the grandfather clock strikes midnight.
