Brooke Sandford’s third year of Bachelor of Design (Fashion) has seen her specialising in women's wear or, specifically, children’s wear as a sub set. This drive came from her passion for all things related to children. Outside of Brooke’s university life, she is involved in both nannying and working in fashion retail. These two interests have served as a catalyst for her inspiration to explore children’s wear. Brooke’s collection is designed to allow children to express themselves through their clothes in a fun and colourful way. This range places importance on children dressing as children – not pseudo adults. This fulfils Brooke’s social conscience in a society that demands that children grow up faster than they need to. When reminiscing about her childhood, a prominent memory was her love for licorice allsorts. The colour palette, and the childish notions of this candy, flow through her Little Allsorts collection. The ’60s fashion revolution also reflects the essence of Brooke’s collection which features leather and colour blocking. |
