Diana Mitchell was born in Auckland, New Zealand. She grew up between Epsom and Piha, having the best of both urban and outdoor lifestyles. She believes clothing should speak true identity. Diana’s collection for summer 2011 explores creating a unique New Zealand modern cultural aesthetic, while maintaining practicality and a youthful spirit. Her designs are influenced by childhood memories of growing up in New Zealand, where she sees nature as a playground. She draws from experiences that other New Zealanders may relate to.

During her time at university she has worked for three well-known New Zealand fashion labels: Karen Walker, Ruby and Sera Lilly. She is currently working in clothing importing and merchandising.
