Julia Sabourin, for her third year of the Bachelor of Design (Fashion), has created a range of footwear. Her limited choice of elegant footwear in New Zealand was what made Julia to decide to learn the new skill of creating footwear. She has produced a collection influenced by the Italian Cinque Terre, which, for Julia, is one of the most inspiring places in the world. She has concentrated on the colours, details and the beauty of handmade shoes. Working mainly with leather and wood, Julia perceives this work as art.
