Georgina Irvine has been working on a women’s street range based around the idea of a scavenger who roams inorganic collections and car dumps, gathering scrap metal.

The core of Georgina’s designs, her inspiration, was derived from her moulded leather pieces.  Georgina formed heavy looking objects with leather that was soaked in hot water and allowed to dry naturally in the sun; once dry they have retained these shapes. These garments deceive the eye by allowing one to believe that they are weighty, due to the use of chunky chains and bolts, which are moulded over them.  These formations, however, are actually light and wearable.

Georgina’s Autumn/Winter collection also demonstrates a strong “manly” aesthetic combined with a relaxed feeling, while some of her fabrics have been given an enzyme wash to give them a “worn” and rugged look.
