Cayleigh du Plessis has spent most of her youth in Auckland but has been fortunate to have travelled extensively around the North and South Islands, particularly the ski resorts. Cayleigh learnt to ski at a very young age and, later, to snowboard. This year she has decided to combine her enthusiasm for both fashion design and snowboarding, to create a snowboarders’ collection. Much of her inspiration behind design details and silhouette has come from old photos of the first board riders of California as well as the skate culture from which the sport of snowboarding grew.

Cayleigh has noticed a significant change in the clothing that boarders are wearing on the slopes, especially that many garments, such as jeans, shirts and street jackets, are not specifically designed for snow sports. She has also identified that customers are not often able to find sportswear that appeals to them and, therefore, sometimes resort to wearing general clothing. Cayleigh's goal for her range is to fill this void in regard to both style and comfort. Her focus has been the creation of aesthetically pleasing sports garments that pay attention to function, purpose and comfort.
